Subject: Corn on corn

SW MINNESOTA
What are the main tricks to maintain yield in long term corn on corn? My high fertility hog manured farms seem to be holding their own but ground that don't get manure seems to be falling in its face since 2012 drought. Is the manure really the secret of do i simply need to grow beans once in a while? should I consider baling stalks off to get it blacker and easier to get a better seedbed?
