I ran across this article on LinkedIn and thought it certainly applied to agriculture.  Be it vertical agriculture or horizontal consumerizim....it is all about the money.  Do you keep your feet on the ground with your personal small data OR put your head in the clouds with the promise of big data that you have little control over once you let go of your data.

While I am an advocate of small data done right.....you need to read this article from a consumer horizontal perspective and see what applies to you and agribusiness romancing your stone.
