Subject: Mother natures response to market buying acres.

Centre county Pennsylvania, USA

An earlier post by 1234 showed one view of subsequent year acres planted Vs current market year average price for US corn. That view showed a 3.7 million acres planted per dollar price trend line for subsequent year acres planted. Attached graphs show two additional views of subsequent year acres planted that include standard deviation of actual planted acres from trend line. One view is for latest 12 years of USDA data and the other is for latest 25 years of USDA data. No data editing was done for either of those 2 views.

Standard deviation of actual planted acres from trend line of about 4 million planted acres, shown in both of those views, is probably saying that mother nature always bets last, for corn farmers and market players.
