| OK a friend of mine just purchased some land that has been hayed not grazed for many years. He was raised in town and has had a dream to own land in the country. I have been helping him build fence to put cow calf pairs on that he has yet to purchase. All of his pasture is around 50 percent Johnsongrass with balance fescue/bermuda and we are having a dry spell (everything starting to burn). I hated to tell him as I don't really know a lot about it but that there might be a problem dumping cattle in on this place. I told him worst case scenario he puts 20 pairs in and finds 4 or 5 dead a few days later. What do you think? | |
