Subject: plant hay instead of wheat?

Need some feedback on this situation if anybody can please help me. I farm in northern montana and winter wheat helps pays the bills, would a guy be better off to put winter wheat hay instead of wheat. I think cows will be good for next couple years. Montana State has a forage winter wheat hay called willow creek. Willow creek on a average year goes 2.5 to 3 ton on dryland. This wheat hay is beardless I would say hay will be close to 100 bucks for the next couple years. No crop insurance half the harvesting costs own the haying equipment own the cows. This hay also comes off a month and a couple weeks earlier saving moisture fertlizer costs a little lower less spraying costs I hate weeds but a little kockia can get baled. I just want to see if I have screwed up thinking thanks a lot
