Subject: fungicide on a dirty field

Western IL.

well here we go! Soybeans are blooming and setting pods, time to put on fungicides and insecticides but there are pockets of water hemp sneaking up through the canopy. 15" rows. was planning on doing the spraying with a ground rig. If I spray now for the weeds it will ding the crop bad,5-8 bu. hit I'm told. crop consultant says let the weeds go and run them trough the combine and attack the problem harder next year. should you still apply fungicides to a dirty field? won't it just keep the weeds healthy and green longer also?
