Ne Nebraska | We have never chopped silage before and with the low corn price and having ample supply of low quality bales on hand (crp grass, rained on grass, etc) I an considering chopping a little silage and trying to get these used up. Will mainly be feed during calving and during snow events while grazing stalks. What I would chop would be 180 - 200bu irrigated corn. What kind of a ration would be your guess I would feed without having tests available currently? 50/50? 40% silage 60% hay? Thanks for any help as I have no clue of an idea to start punching numbers with. | |
