Subject: Selling a cow herd

Glasgow Montana
Guys I am mostly a lurker but read daily and am needing some ideas. I have approx 100 younger cows that I am thinking about selling this fall. I have watched Markwright talk about 3 for 1's and am wondering if that is a legitimate way to sell a complete herd or not? My idea would be to private treaty sell them between now and fall and run them till say early September and move them. I do have a sale barn and could split them up but the fall calf run doesn't start till end of October and bred cow sales are into December before they get going and am thinking winter wheat on the place I have been running them. Also does anybody use an internet market place "cattle connection" or some such thing as a place to make a deal? I guess I think of them a a pretty good herd and would like more control over where they go next in the beef cycle.
