Subject: Another question related to the "Oats Saga"

Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of using the tine harrow in the oats for some weed control.

With that in mind.........makes sense to use a drill.........vs broadcasting.

Depth control, maybe plant a little deeper, more seeds closer together in a row.......and if use tine harrow, can go with the direction of the row, and maybe lose a little oats, but would also stir the soil for weeds between the rows.

So.........being "drill deficient" (never been around one)..........can a soybean special be closed down enough to drill oats............or, does a person need to stay with a "traditional" one?

And.....of course would need to put down some small seed, like clover.

Single disk openers sufficient?

Thanks.
