Subject: Angus epds vs. Charolais

northwest tennessee

I have a charolais bull that I bought from a breeder here at 3 days old and raised. He is 9 months old now and weighs about 800 I guess. He is good as gold and will let you do anything to him. I mean pick his feet up etc. I got the papers on him today and his BW epd is 0.9 and I was looking to see how this compares to an angus. The adjustment factor for char. is 8.6 so I think I add 8.6 to 0.9 to get 9.5. Is that right? So he is like an angus with a 9.5 BW epd?  I have never heard of an angus that high. I have always wanted to try a charolais bull on my cows but have been afraid of calving problems. As bad as I hate to I may not use Ike on my cows and will sell him. Do I have this right?
