Subject: 2166 engine oil pan drain tap leak.

North East Wimmera district of Victoria.
G'day from Aussy,
My 2166 is only a few days into the current harvest. [which is going very well - done lentils, and now into wheat].
Serviced [as in oil change] before starting.
Noticed an oil leak from the region of the 'óil pan drain tap'. Making a mess in the frame under the engine.
Rang a mechanic in Case ÏH, and he said that they do get leaking taps, but usually down the drain pipe that takes sump oil down to ground level.
This is obviously from around either the 90 deg turn tap used to drain the oil, or from the copper washer between the tap and the sump.
So my questions -
Have others had a similar oil leak?
Was it around the shaft of the tap [as in not through the tap and down the drain pipe], or was it somehow the washer that had started to leak?

Have eliminated the mainseal on the crankshaft, clean and dry.
Also it could not possible have a hairline fracture in the sump pan? Could it!

Thanks in advance - I enjoy the AgTalk forums!
