Subject: Acetylene valve freeze up?

Its what we call cold here in my area. I know its not really cold like 95% of those on this board get, but it is cold to use when it gets into the 20s at night much less the teens like last night. So this morning, I needed to remove a seized pin from a tube. I lit up the torch with the rose bud tip, and it went great for about 1 minute or so. Then the acetylene system froze up. No frost on the outside, but the tank and valve were ice cold and only a very small amount of gas would come thru the tank valve.

Does acetylene freeze up like propane when high draw demands are made on it?
