Elsmore, Kansas | With all the late planted crops I am so surprised how promising some of them have looked. However things r really going the other way fast. I really can't complain about the temps we been having in fact the temps could not be better for growing corn in our part of world but dang its getting dry. Corn is rolling up tight and looking a silver blue color and some of the beans have dead spots on the rocky ground. I always try to stay optimistic and look at the glass as half full but after the past two summers I just don't know what to think. In yrs 11 & 12 we looked good going into wheat harvest and then the water just stopped and the heat set in, this yr we were behind crop wise going into harvest but everything look promising and so far just like the past couple the water has stopped. I really need a crop this year, I am not asking for a bumper crop but just a crop. Sorry for ranting but this crap is getting old. Praying for rain and everyone have a great evening! | |
