Subject: Growing Boston Ferns

My FFA chapter just finished their first fern sale which I considered a huge success. We purchased the ferns from a mass producer at wholesale price and resold them at retail. Today in class I had a student ask if we could try to reproduce and raise some of our own ferns for next years sale. I told the student that I would look into it and get back with him. We do have a greenhouse that we are currently growing hanging baskets flowers, bedding plants, and vegetables. My question is how big of a deal is it to reproduce and raise nice ferns? Any secrets? Or would we be better off purchasing the ferns again just like this year? I'm not talking about a lot maybe 25-30 ferns and purchasing the other 100-150. Thanks for your help.
