| I will be buying a new line of equipment. Long story short I have nothing to trade in...so all cash/bank. I have a unique oppornity to start from scratch equipment wise...and after having red and green in the past am undecided which direction to go. Past equipment/experience was Case/STG 4WD's and combines ...and Deere MFWD, planter, as well as a Kinze planter. I'm looking for:
24 Row/30 inch (no-till 75% of beans, conventional corn, 50/50 corn/bean split)
Tractor to pull Planter (also will be used on grain cart)
4WD to pull finisher/chisel
Combine w/heads
Sprayer
Will be buying 2011 and newer equipment, using most the latest technology (auto-steer, row-clutches, etc.)
My thinking is with the technology it will be easier (and possibly cheaper in long run) to stick with one brand this time around.
My thoughts are Case does as good as Deere for 10% less cash...but most of that will be made up in resale (minus interest of course).
Overall...what would you decide...mixing and matching is not out of question...but think one brand might be way to go.
Any suggestions much appreciated!!
