Subject: Does potash help in drought?

SC Kansas
I thought I remember reading something a while back that said that potash may help in dry environments. We always fertilize according to soil tests, so we aren't deficient, but was wondering if I put a little bit in the starter if it would help corn/milo/beans through dry spells a little better.
