I had a computer brought to me that wouldn't go on the Internet. He'd had it to a few "experts" first. One of them replaced the motherboard thinking that would fix the problem. Then of course being an E-machine and replacing the motherboard with something else they tried to use the backup partition to re install Windows. It did but didn't have all the drivers and now Windows wants an activation key. I found the key but it won't work. No doubt because Microsoft tied the key to the E-machine motherboard and now thinks it's being installed on another computer. I've been told that Microsoft will issue a new key but I don't know how to get in contact with Microsoft to get the key. The automated service just says it's the wrong key. I gave the computer back to him and told him I'd check and see if there was a human at Microsoft he could explain his problem to. Anybody have any knowledge regarding this? |
