I was driving thru southern Georgia last week on I-75.  I saw some cotton fields that were harvested, some yet to go.  When is normal harvest for cotton there?  Some plants looked full with cotton, some only partially full, and some looked like a lot had fallen off.  It was white on the ground.  Is that common?  Some of harvested cotton looked to be in round bales, some in long stacks.  How long is it left there, how much are those bales or stacks worth?  Only saw 2 harvesters and they were sitting.  Thanks for helping this corn farmer understand.
