Waldron, MI | Well, after responding to AT posts asking about these tractors and sharing my good experiences with my 8640, it now has decided to give me trouble. It will no longer go into D range. The shift lever will go to D range but its as if the gears themselves are not engaging all the way. Initially, it started by sounding like it was popping out/grinding when slowing down on the road and working the shift lever a little would get it in D range, now it will not pull in D at all. A JD tech has attempted to adjust the linkage/cable with no success. All other ranges and gears are working well. Thoughts? | |
