Subject: Normal protein for good corn silage?

Baldwin City, KS
My silage came back at 10.5% protein from KSU. I thought that sounded pretty good. Usually if the silage had decent corn and might have been in the 100-120 bu range, I would have given it a credit equal to my decent hay as far as protein is considered, having not really been worried about testing before. Was this accurate (my assumption I mean), or does silage always run higher than good brome hay in protein? This years pile has precious little corn in it. NO3 ppm was at 151
