Subject: Spread now or later?

North Central, NC
Spreading dry fertilizer on no till land going to beans next year. Did this last year on corn land to get the fertility back up as I am farming some previously abused land. Old timers and even the guy at the co op where I'm buying the fertilizer says that if I spread now that I'm gonna lose all my fertilizer (even kinda got into a pissing match with the guy at the co op insisting he was right). I know this not to be true because p&k are pretty immobile in the soil (maybe an inch a year?). Plus add to the fact that I grew a pretty decent crop this year spreading the fertilizer in February, although it didn't seem to really utilize the fertilizer till later in the year. I figured the earlier on the better, which is also the opinion on NAT from what I've read the past year or so. Maybe someone can put my mind at ease as I would really like to get it on this week while the ground is still decent to drive on
