Subject: oat varieties that DO lodge

Rome, KS
Does anyone have any recomendations for oats that are notorious for lodging.
Reason I'm asking, my grandad had a variety that always lodged if we left it for grain. But, if we put it up for hay, it was some of the best that cattle would eat. Low lignin, I imagine. Seems all the newer oats stand well, but cattle dont eat very well and if they are tub ground, grind like trees.
