Subject: eugene smith -lifetime of lessons

sw ontario
From post below on old farm journal and SF mag google smith and lifetime of lessons-gives farming history. In around'80 he was making $8k a day in net worth appreciation and according to his words when things went bad with high interest rates a year or so later he was losing $8k a day , built his own 18-24 row planters, ect . He was featured speaker at Top Farmer workshop about 1979 at Purdue . Some local hog producers from here attended and said he was bigger than life itself . Rented lots of In. ground for $35 acre .He made good reading and MSB knew his family from working at JD dealer . Guys like Stamp,ILLF,Killiam,Prinz, ect. that tried those things too probably farm for different reasons than the rest of us and some say they do it because they can . Most, myself included gets upset about those guys putting others out of business ,ect. and then there are others who just wish they had thought of it first . Much is driven by ego greed,..... I'll just stop now. Anybody know how MSB is doing after his sale and health issues.
