| A very close friend (A Farmer) took a 7mm Mag round to the chest this morning and is expected to survive.
Long story short, in mounting/dismounting a buggy in pursuit of hogs, (Works in the off season at a high fence deer operation) , on and off the buggy several times, his rifle discharged and hit him right side lower breast and exited thankfully away from the spine.
Was alone, but able to call for help.
Went 30 min before rescue, lost 4 pts blood, so on. Lung ok, liver will be ok, ribs in rough shape. Went to local hospital for blood and stabilization and now @ a regional hospital. Had one surgery to clean him up and surely several more to come. Need to rebuild ribs. Serious, but stable.
We ALL need to be more cognisant of our actions and slow down. At the end of the day it simply isn't worth being "not careful."
Thanks for listening.
