Subject: Ballasting a 9430T

East Central Iowa

We are looking at getting a 9430T and wondering how others have set them up weight wise.  It appears Deere recommends 55% on the front / 45% on the rear based on the manual.  Right now it has 20 weights up front and 6 idler weights. 3 on either side.  Based on the those numbers, the weight split is 65% front and 35% rear.  Does that seem right?  Are others running that setup?  That comes out to about 113 lbs/hp (47860 lbs/425 hp) .  I know the weight is important, but don't want to over ballast either.  The heavist draft we would use it on would be a 37 ft disk.  TIA
