We've been having problem with our tractor leaving heavy tracks in our fields when we plant out mixed grain. We pull our seed drill with a JD 6200 and roller behind, so its not like its an overly heavy tractor. Our land has very little clay, so the drainage is almost too good at times. The planted fields look good when finished but if you drive across the field later in the year, the tire tracks from the seeding tractor with just about chatter your teeth out. Even on a 4 wheeler its bad. Just wondering if anyone has any thought to combat this. Maybe tire pressure, duals, heavier roller, culti-planter is always an option but a bit of an expense. I've seen guys that rig up about 6 s-tine cultivator teeth between the tractor and seed drill to remove the tracks. That's a possibility as well. Any input would be appreciated | |
