Subject: Tango4 aluminum framed cornhead

Southern Illinois
Had a discussion today with a rep for Tango 4 cornheads. They have an aluminum frame and come in sizes all the way up to 18R30 (45'). Comparing to CIH and JD 12 rows they are several thousand pounds lighter and made from aircraft aluminum. He said a customer tried a 16 row and it flexed a lot less than his steel 16 row plus was lighter on the combine. The row unit is alot like a JD with a stalk roll, which he described as very aggressive and good at only bringing in the ears no trash. I didn't give it much thought but if you could shave weight on the cornhead and still have a durable product you could put the weight in the hopper and folding augers. Has anyone been around these heads or used one? Cost is similar to CIH heads.
