Nevada, Iowa | First, a heart felt thanks to all Veterans. We appreciate your service to our country and hope that it is never forgotten.
Pictured below is a Veteran near and dear to me, my Dad. On October 16th, Dad was one of 169 Vets to take the first Story County Freedom Flight. Their day consisted of visits to the WWII, Korea and Vietnam war memorials and to Arlington National Cemetery. It was a big day starting at 4 am and ending about 1 the next morning but a very memorable experience for Dad. He's is very happy with his decision to make the journey.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers, coordinators and contributors that made the flight possible. It was very well organized and executed from the word go. If you have a chance to support the Honor Flight network in your area or the opportunity to encourage a Vet to make the trip, please consider it.
The first pic is of Dad and my nephew Rob. Rob met Dad in D.C. and was able to be with him most of the day.
The second shot is of the Korean War memorial.
