Subject: 1.1 shrink vs 1.4 shrink ins co rant

michigan
Well I get done with harvest and figure the corn bushels. I figure I am under my ins amount. Adjuster says he needs the load sheet. OK I get that for him, he picks it up and said I will look it over and give you a call back.
Well, he does and tell's me I'm over by 27 bu. Huh? The insurance co as it was explained to me uses a 1.1% shrink. Elevator uses 1.4%. I always thought the standard here was 1.4% used by everybody.
I explained to the adjusters boss that had we always used 1.1% I would be under my 75%. I was met with silence for a moment.
I am glad I was over. Compared to some we had a good year. Just seemed like a weasel way to confuse and muddy the waters. I thought the standard was the same. I guess it is not.
The bushels or the money isn't the issue just pizzed that I didn't catch that in the language. The adjusters boss say's it is in there.
End of rant.........................
