| well we have recently used in the last 3 years vertical tillage attachments on our wil-rich chisel plow in the spring for seed bed prep. we like the job it does but it really seems to ridge when you try to make corners with the tool in the ground. keep in mind we farm a lot of land along river/crick banks so its not uncommon to have some pretty good long/short curves and sweeps in areas. we are now thinking of going to a dedicated vertical tillage tool i.e. a salford rts in about a 41' width. anyways when it comes down to it a new salford is $90k brand new that we looked at and a similar summers unit is around $65k. used ones are kinda up in the air as we are not sure that we want to have to rebuild a used one (alot of time and money spent on that as well if we go that route) who else makes vertical tillage tools that is NAT approved? what do you like/dislike about it? cost? width? speed of use? whats the maintainence like? | |
