Subject: Calmer slowdown kit on a 40 series deere question

SE Minnesota

I'm putting the Calmer BT crushers and slower chains on my 40 series Deere cornhead and it says I need to grind off the angle iron piece near the gathering chain drive on each row.   I see why I need to for the chain to clear, my problem is that the outer 2 angle irons are used to hold the bracket for the poly snouts on each end of the head.

I'm wondering what others did to solve this problem. I can weld up some sort of bracket and make it work, but I'm hoping someone else has a better idea

Thanks
