West Chazy, New York | For years several of us in Hawaii have ordered parts from the mainland, mainly because our local dealer is so poor. They typically charge about 135% of list price, and double the freight charges to us. If we order from the mainland, the parts come directly to us from the distribution center and we pay the list price and the freight is billed straight through. In other words, the mainland dealer sends us parts for less money, we get them faster, and they provide good support over the telephone if we need help. Today I was informed that the local dealer did the crybaby routine, and now we are no longer able to order parts from the mainland. In my opinion, this is just one more example of how Deere is willing to trample its customers. It's disappointing; I have had a lot of green equipment over the years, but things like this make me a lot less loyal than I used to be. |
