Subject: Hog manure and Soybeans

Southwest Iowa - Trees and Ditches
I have a field coming out of CRP I intend to no-till to soybeans this first year. My experience planting into sod has been subpar, so I figured soybeans were a lower cost option in a difficult situation. Do others start fields out of CRP straight to corn or soybeans in the first rotation?

The only reason I am second guessing myself is because this morning the nearby hog confinement contacted me looking for some acres to spread on. Will soybeans just grow to 6 ft tall and have no pods in hog manure? Will the manure application improve my corn yield enough to justify switching crops? I would still be no-till planting as that was part of the agreement with the LL.

I don't have soil tests...I only lined the ground up a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for your advice
