Subject: Poultry litter question

Corydon, IA

Went to a meeting today put on by a company that was wanting growers for a new egg hatchery nearby. I went to find out more about the litter that they need to get rid of out of these facilites. They said that the average value of the litter was about 55 to 65 bucks a ton figuring todays prices for P and K. They use pine or cedar shavings for bedding. So my question is would the wood shavings cause more problems than it would be worth to try to get ahold of some of this litter for adding to crop ground?
