Leesport, PA | Getting ready to move July 1 and will be renting a place for the first time where I have to pick my internet and cable/satellite TV provider. (Always lived with roommates who already had services lined up.)
The area I am moving too has two providers in this field. 1. Mediacom: internet with a 12 mbps speed bundled with cable TV 2. QWEST: internet with 1.5 mbps speed bundled with Direct TV
Over a 2 year contract Mediacom comes out about $10/month more expensive.
Currently I am leaning towards Mediacom because of their faster internet speed. Given that I do mostly internet browsing and occasionally log in to my company's network remotely, will I benefit that much from the 12 mbps vs. the 1.5 mbps?
Will I have less disruptions with my TV viewing using cable instead of satellite?
Any reason I should stay away from either company? I will be living in Davenport, Iowa if it makes a difference.
I appreciate your thoughts on this matter.
Thanks,
Ryan
