Subject: GSI plugs in new garage question.

68340

My house is 10 years old.

Bought a 12.5 amp elect heater for the garage to keep the pipes from freezing.  Just want to keep it around 40 would be nice.

Plug in this little utility heater an it does not kick in.  GSI plugs.

Plug in the heater other places in the house and it kicks in.   Heater not the problem.

Should or is it required for garage plugs to be GSI safety wired?

The kitchen is just on the other side of the garage so they tied them all together.

Actually if you kick out a plug in the kitchen for some reason you need to go out into the garage and push the reset button.  Nice.

Were they being lazy in not running a separate wire for the garage or did they do it right?

Thanks.
