North Central Kansas | The last one is to show the younger crowd (heheh im 38 and saying younger) what a flex auger driving shaft is.
I have an older 2000 bu bin that is in good shape. It has a cement floor (flat). To empty it, you open the door, slide the latch and get about 3 loads out, then have to put the auger into the bin, get another 1 out that way, then whatever is left with the shovel and your back.
Is there a way that I could put an auger in the side of this bin and have it drag or pull the wheat out for me? And keep a good seal on the old bin. I do not have the funds to invest into a new bin now. This bin has been used this way for the past 25 years or more. It is all we use it for.
I have a couple 3500 bu bins I could have for free, just have to have the cement put in, fans, flooring, auger, and bins moved. I am to get a quote for that this or next week.
I do not do a lot of storage on my farm. If I was to move these bins, I have a neighbor that would rent them from me
In a couple more years, I will have some funds saved up that I could do something more elebrate, but for now I'm pretty simple.
Thanks ya all
I'll try and get a photo of this bin I would like an auger in tomorrow and post
