Subject: BASF [[Annoying]] Mail Ad

Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

How many of you received the big ad from BASF recently?

I thought it should probably be in the running for "Most Annoying Use of Advertising Funds Ever".

For those who haven't seen it, it was a poster-sized sheet of very heavy (read: expensive) paper, printed on both sides.  One side probably had a bunch of 'facts' about BASF products on it.....I didn't read any of it, just saw it was there.  The other side was supposed to be some sort of award certificate for ROI, with the recipient's name printed in the center.  "This is to certify ___your name here____ as a yadayadayadayada"

To top it off, it was mailed out in a heavy-weight mailing tube that was so long that it wouldn't fit in the mailbox, so the mailman had to leave the mailbox door open to accomodate it.  Nice, when there is other, significantly more important mail in there.

Just make the darn chemicals that we use less expensive, and save the time and aggravation of these types of mailings!

It made good kindling.

OK, rant over, thanks!
