Blue Earth, MN | Corn stalks on the ground in the fall is a MUST. Question is...how does one do it? Stalk stompers, roll them after harvest, roll same time as stripping...
I used to be of the party that thought "leave em standing as tall as possible". However, after much thought, I'm clearly seeing having corn stalks on the ground surface (not mixed in the soil) allows the strip till unit to make a blacker strip which ultimately gives a better corn plant health. I'm just not sure how one gets this hurdle cleared. | |
