Subject: Case IH 485 compound delete??

NW Wisconsin
Does anyone have experience deleting the compound turbo on a 485? If so, what do you do about tuning? Do you leave stock main turbo? Or change to the one from 435?

Little backstory, last spring it was smoking real bad, turns out both main turbo and compound were leaking oil. Both got replaced. Started using last fall, maybe an hour of runtime on it and there was a boom. And oil coming out exhaust. And it blew the pipes apart between the turbos. Finally tore into it today, and found the shaft broke off the compound and main turbo is loosing oil through compressor side. Kind of discouraging. So I think I would rather sacrifice a little hp for some reliability.

Thanks
