Subject: Change iPhone 8 battery myself?

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I purchased a refurbished iPhone 8 a couple of years ago. I suspect it may still be using the original battery. Lately the battery doesn't seem to last as long as it used to. It seems to drop to close to zero quite often. Normally the icon in the upper right corner should be green but drop to red when the battery is getting low.

A couple of days ago, I noticed the icon is now yellow even with a moderate charge. I checked the battery screen under Settings and apparently my battery is failing.

I noticed some new battery kits online. Some claim to be better than original. The kits vary in price and some appear to include tools for doing the job.

I called the local phone repair place and they charge $70 for a new battery installed. The online price for the battery kits are around $20 -$30.

I'm tempted to get a kit and install it myself. Any advice on this plan. Thanks.
