NW Iowa | I need a pump by fall for two hog buildings with 8' pits. Houle looks like the best chopper pump out there. These are not my buildings and there was a ton of junk (and hides) in there last year. I've been looking on the web and talking to dealers on the phone. I'd like to find a good used one, but am considering both new and used. The dealers seem to be trying to sell me whatever they have on the lot. They are talking extended hitch 3 point 9' and 9.5'. The buildings I'm emptying only have about a 4" lip above ground on the pumpouts. Can a person run a 9' or a 9.5' at 1000 rpm all day and keep the knuckles in the pto? Or should I keep my search limited to an 8' pump? | |
