Lancaster, OH | Hearing the name, I thought that Don Rickles might be coming in, but no.
I've had a bad ankle from a terrible high ankle sprain and some bone issues from an accident in 1983. I had surgery twice but still had limited movement.
Lately, the ankle would be very painful after exercise so I asked the Dr. for physical therapy. I followed the stretching for a couple of weeks. Today, the therapist asked about Dry Needling.
One measurable stretch was to kneel with my toe 5" from the wall and try to flex the ankle and get my knee to the wall. I could get to 4.25" from the wall. Immediately after the dry needling, I could get to 3.75"!
The technique reminds you of acupuncture but it is not. It is not painful until they hit the trigger points where it causes the muscle to twitch and have little cramps.
I was skeptical but it worked.
