Southern Middle Tennessee | Been talking to a guy I know about doing some hay for me and have been kind of shocked at how much money he would want to cut, rake and bale for me. He told me he'd want $22 a bale. What is the going rate for some custom work like this? I'm trying to decide if I need to buy my own or just fork out the money this time and see how much hay I can make off my place the first year. Never really dealt with hay but in the past as far as custom work goes it seems like the grower is better off to have his own machinery if doing much at all. TIA |
