CENTRAL ILLINIOS | Do any of you know the value of a old car for salvage. Guy that helps me has been driving a 1998 mercedes that he had to have towed off the interstate this weekend when a part gave out in the front suspension letting the frame drop down and the tire got into the fender. The car has 240000 miles on it so he decided to give up on it finally and wanted to know how to get rid of it. I told him any salvage yard would take it just not sure how much they would pay. Well that was bad information because the first one he called would not take it for free(they were about 40 miles away and were going to have to send a roll off to pick it up). The next one he called was in the some town as the car and they offered $80. Not sure what he is going to do yet but I think he will take the $80. Just was kind of an eye opener for me. | |
