Subject: Crop observations- Illinois

southern edge of central illinois
We have done a little traveling the last week. Over to Quincy, then
to Springfield and back home. Another day took us to Urbana and
back. It's fascinating to see the variability. In my 24 years farming
nothing comes close. Some excellent looking crops west around Quincy.
Other areas can be good in one field and very poor next to it. If rain
continues there will be pretty good corn average IMO. It would decline
quickly if it turns dry. Beans IMO will not be very good. Just too many
late fields, hurting fields, poor fields. We grow seed beans for Asgrow
and they will be the worst we have ever grown. I'm anxious for
harvest and then begin to work towards 2016. Normal anyone?
