Nothing says spring in Australia like seeing the wattle trees in flower. The green and gold of gums and wattles together in the bush is really spectacular and means winter is almost over. Winter has been a good one here with regular small falls of rain keeping the pasture growing and the cows fat, but I am looking forward to the warmth of spring. I weighed my young cattle this week to see how they are growing and to select some to sell. Taking them back to their paddock of oats they found a nice patch of clover to eat so I was able to take some time out, sit in the sun on the 4 wheeler and listen to the birds in the trees while the cattle grazed (and watch my dog exert her dominance over the cattle lol). Nice to sit back and smell the roses (or gum trees and cow pats) once in a while.
