Subject: Remedy for down soybean plants

Dennison, IL

We can't seem to figure out what our problem is.  It doesn't seem to matter what we do, unless the soybeans are low yielding, they will not stand.  It makes it a pain to cut.  We've lowered the population to 140K in 15" rows.  They're non-gmo's that get the snot burnt out of them early on which should make them shorter.  They are Pioneer (y-series), E-merge, and Beck's soybeans.  Our bean average the last several years is 60 bu./a.  Ranging from  25-75 bu/a. separate field averages.  The 25 bu beans stood straight as a string.  I know the neighbors surely have good yields, but theirs seem to stand straight.  Would like to figure this out.  We don't over fertilize..  It's bad enough that I had a field I had to harvest one direction; that field average was 67 bu/acre.  Any comments are welcome.  Thanks
