Dennison, IL | We can't seem to figure out what our problem is. It doesn't seem to matter what we do, unless the soybeans are low yielding, they will not stand. It makes it a pain to cut. We've lowered the population to 140K in 15" rows. They're non-gmo's that get the snot burnt out of them early on which should make them shorter. They are Pioneer (y-series), E-merge, and Beck's soybeans. Our bean average the last several years is 60 bu./a. Ranging from 25-75 bu/a. separate field averages. The 25 bu beans stood straight as a string. I know the neighbors surely have good yields, but theirs seem to stand straight. Would like to figure this out. We don't over fertilize.. It's bad enough that I had a field I had to harvest one direction; that field average was 67 bu/acre. Any comments are welcome. Thanks |
