Subject: Sweet corn bulk handling

Qld Australia
I know there are some guys on here that are in the sweet corn game. I'm involved in a project to redesign the delivery of sweet corn to the packing shed packing lines to get away from using the pallet sized bins we currently use. At the moment we deliver corn to the sheds in walking floor semis and then unload into bins before cooling and then generally pack the next day. Does anyone do this process in bulk? Am currently thinking of pushing the truck load off onto another stationary walking floor and then going through a continuous hydro cooler, then directly supplying 4 packing lines via belts or something. Getting the stuff chilled is the key part of course.

Be keen to swap some ideas if anyone has been here looking at this concept before.

Cheers, Sando
