south central IOWA | By NAT standards I shouldn't have kept this heifer last year. She finally stuck Ai'd on her 3rd and last heat cycle for her first calf and that was a little disappointing to me because I really liked her. She ended up calving on May 9th last year.
I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find her getting ready to calve and a couple hours later she ended up having my bull Chromie's 23rd calf in a row with white on their face. She's my 4th cow to calve so far this year. Maybe she'll turn into an all right cow after all.
Or maybe she calved today because my wife named her Miranda when she was a calf and my wife just went on a Miranda Lambert concert binge this weekend and seen her twice in 2 different cities. Crazier things have happened.....
